Information Technology Strategy Plan |
Role |
Principal business strategist and analyst |
Description |
This project required the development and refinement of the Information Technology Strategy for the Network operations of the client. The growth of IT systems with the client's Network Operations area had seen the development of highly complex, inter-dependent and distributed information systems. With the onset of telecommunication deregulation, the client was committed to affect operational efficiencies, particularly in a low cost/high service market. The project required a high level of understanding of the characteristics, costs, deficiencies and efficiencies of each of the client's inter-connecting information systems. This understanding was developed through an extensive process of systems definition and assessment, augmented by an exhaustive process of interviews and user workshops. A key requirement of the project was ensuring that new and improved Information technology systems and processes supported the key business drivers and imperatives of the client environment. Accordingly, in-depth interviews and management workshops were used to clarify and establish all business drivers and operational outputs. Performance measurement tools for the assessment and monitoring of the key business drivers were also assessed. |
